Welcome to Juniper Green Primary School

I am sure you will enjoy your visit to our website.

Juniper Green primary is a forward-thinking school that values standards and achievement.

We are extremely proud of all that goes on here. This is a very exciting time for Juniper Green

As our website demonstrates, the children at Juniper Green are supported in their learning by dedicated staff, School Board and parents. Our website has been researched and designed by our P6 pupils.

A Bit of History

  • There has been a school of various sorts on the site of the present Annexe building since 1825.
  • It became a state run primary school in 1920.
  • A growing population caused the school to need a new building.
  • The present main building was built in 1975, celebrating its 25 anniversary in 2000. At the celebrations balloons, in house colours were released to see how far they could travel. A time capsule was buried with memories of the past, in one of the courtyards.
  • We have had 2 buildings as our school for 28 years now - but we have recently been included in the new PPP2 scheme proposed by City of Edinburgh.
  • We are all looking forward to a brand new school being built on the current site of our main building in the year 2008-9. At last we will be all together in one building.
  • We are very pleased to have links with Isago school in Africa which we are keen to keep building on through exchanges with our teachers.  There is a presentation attached of a recent visit to Edinburgh by the Isago Head Teacher.

Don't forget to visit our Calendar section, for a comprehensive lisiting of all of the important forthcoming term dates - make sure you have your diaries handy. I look forward to seeing you in school!

Best Wishes
